The PlayStation 5 will at some point allow users to install an NVMe SSD to expand the PS5’s storage, but it’s not supported at launch. Although Treyarch and Activision have not provided specifications for what that requires, it’s believed that Warzone plus Black Ops Cold War would need 200 GB in all. The download list does not include Call of Duty: Warzone. Raytracing data needs 11.8 GB of drive space. The package of high-definition (that is, 4K-supported) textures is larger than the game’s multiplayer mode, 38.2 GB to 27.6 GB. On Tuesday, a ResetEra user posted a screenshot itemizing the game’s components and their download sizes.

There’s a very thin line between a nostalgic experience and an archaic one, and it’s a line that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's Multiplayer has not quite managed to balance on. Players can selectively install only the modes they want to play, but only after installing the entire game. It clocks in at more than 50 GB above what Activision and Treyarch told players to expect one week ago.
